New England Cheese is a family owned and operated ‘Paddock to Plate’ dairy farm, food manufacturer and ‘front of house’, cafe.   Producing dairy products from cows, goat and sheep milk. We are located on the Great Dividing Range, half way between Gloucester and Walcha in the New England region.

We are seeking Passionate, energetic, positive and flexible individuals to join our family business.  Attention to detail and safety is essential, as are commitment to deadlines.

These are permanent full time position with some weekend work. Working times will be negotiated (40 hours per week).   Nowendoc has a primary school (currently 6 children). Bus travel for year 7 and above to Walcha.

New England Cheese in a non-smoking environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Non Smoker
  • Prepared to commit to a minimum of 2 years employment
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Prepared to complete a minimum Certificate IV within 2 years in an area of your passion. Agriculture – dairy based, Or Dairy/Food Technology, Or Hospitality

Dairy Farmer – Agriculture

This is a ‘hands on’ position working with animals (predominantly goats and sheep), pasture management, operating farm machinery, completing farm maintenance.    Able to work or learn to use working dogs for stock work.  Milking once per day.

Dairy / Food Technologist

Engage with all aspects in the dairy factory from running the pasteuriser, bottling milk, yoghurt manufacture, cheese production, cheese maturation, packing, laboratory work and cleaning.

Café Manager

Manage and operate the factory door café and cheesery. This requires some food preparation – cakes, light snacks, coffee etc. Front of house – cheese tastings, cheese sales. Café preparation, cleaning and presentation. Able to engage with all customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
